  • Anthony Kim is concertmaster, Brianna Baek is associate concertmaster, and Ethan Zhou is Principal 2nd of SDYS Symphony Orchestra

  • Mila Keres is the new concertmaster of the Mainly Mozart Orchestra

  • William Hsu won the YoungArts National Competition for Classical Music category

  • Sequoia Jain-Hong won Merit Prize at the Opus Music Competition

  • Leo Meng won First Place in the Charleston Competition

  • SDYS Concerto competition results: Beichen Li 3rd Place; Elisha Kim 4th Place.

  • MMYO Competition results: Suzuki Comets Orchestra: Summer Sha 1st place; Prelude Orchestra: Evan Zhang 1st place, A.J. Jain-Hong Honorable Mention; Intermediate Orchestra: Sequoia Jain-Hong 2nd place; Advanced Orchestra: Mila Keres Honorable Mention.

  • Bach International Music Competition in Gdansk, Poland results: Grand Prize Winner: Caitlin Wang, violin & 1st Prize Winner Alvin Wang, viola.

  • Kayley Xu won her audition and was accepted into the All-State String Orchestra

  • Alumni of the Tseitlin Studio Francesca Dego will be performing Prokofiev Concerto No. 2 with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

  • Ethan Zhou was chosen as “From the Top Fellow” and will be featured national radio NPR. Ethan is the Principal Second Violin of the SDYS.

  • Emel Cubukcu was chosen as “From the Top Fellow” and will be featured national radio NPR. Emel is the Concertmaster of the SDYS Sinfonia and her school orchestra.

  • Solon Wang, Emel Cubukcu and Anna Yoo performed solo concerti with EuroArts Orchestra in Poland.

  • Billy Hsu attended the Verbier Festival in Switzerland.

  • Tseitlin Studio alumni Francesca Dego performed Sibelius Concerto with Istanbul Philharmonic in Turkey and in Luxemburg with Luxemburg Symphony.

  • Caitlin Wang won First Place in the Charlston Competition

  • Goodlin Competition results: Junior Div: Emel Cubukcu 1st place; Victoria Kim, 2nd Place; Clarie Chen, 3rd Place. Senior Div. Caitlin Wang, 3rd Place. Jasmine Chan won Second Place in the Charlston Competition

  • Tseitlin Studio alumni David Chan resigned from Concertmaster position with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra to pursue conducting career and accepted professorship with the Rice University in addition to his teaching positions with the Juilliard and the Manhattan School of Music and directorship of the Taipei Music Festival in Taiwan.

  • Tseitlin Studio alumni Francesca Dego played Shostakovich Concerto No. 1 with the Detroit, the Turin (Italy) and the Dortmund Symphony Orchestras (Germany), and Brahms Concerto with the St. Louis Symphony.

  • Results of VOCE State Finals: Jr. Div. Emel Cubukcu 3rd Place; Intermediate Div.: Beichen Li 1st Place, Tracie Liu, 3rd place, Chamber Music: Quartet: Ethan Zou, Nadjia Marjon, Marcel Halldorson, Helen Lin 1st Place; Senior Div. Ethan Zou, 2nd Place; Alvin Wang Honorable Mention.

  • Sequoia Jain-Hong won 2nd place in Coronado Concerto Competition.

  • Results of the Rotary Music Competition: Ethan Zhou won First Place and $2,000.

  • Emel Cubukcu won second place in Carnegie Hall Protégé Competition.

  • Results of the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Music Competition: Caitlin Wang and Ethan Zhou shared First Place.
